Revanth Reddy presented the HSBC Rugby Premier League (RPL) Season 2 trophy to Hyderabad Heroes after the home side defeated Mumbai Dreamers 41-17 in the final at Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday. Organised by GMR Sports in partnership with Rugby India, the second edition of the league featured six men’s franchises competing in 34 matches over 13 days in Hyderabad. A total of 84 players participated, including 54 international players from 19 countries alongside 30 Indian players. Rugby India president Rahul Bose said the second season had surpassed the inaugural edition in terms of attendance, quality of competition, sponsorship, fan engagement and broadcast reach. Sujoy Ganguly, Chief Marketing Officer of GMR Sports, said the successful completion of the second season reflected the organisation’s long-term vision of developing new sporting ecosystems in India.
